OK, so I don’t normally dedicate the whole column to what went on in my week,
but hey, it was LONDON FASHION WEEK!
And it was slightly crazy. I don’t think I’ve ever been out so much in my
life!
There are so many great parties and events and clothes, I just couldn’t
resist. So, it was a week of fashion and fun for me, and then a prom dresses
manchester that divided opinion and brought out the body shamers – but more
on that later.
The week started for me at the River Island fashion week party at the
Serpentine, which was amazing. I spotted supermodel Erin O Coer there, who is
absolutely stuing.
I didn’t stay long at the party as I had another two events the next day. On
Saturday it was off to the SpongeBob event!
It was a collection in collaboration with a few designers I love who used
SpongeBob as their inspiration. I pretty much wanted everything from the
collection, it was deadly.

A mum who found online fame by wearing a black short prom dresses o
her wedding has decided to kit her baby daughter out with a similar
outfit.Sophia Cachia, an Australian mum blogger, made headlines in 2016 when she
shared photos of her and her bridesmaid’s black dresses.
The designer surprised Cachia with a mini replica for her two-month-old
daughter Florence.“I was lucky enough to have the extremely talented Anthony
make my black wedding dress back in 2015 - and he surprised us with this
gorgeous number for Flossy using all of mummy’s left over material,” she shared

When she started her fashion business, Yvoe Jewnell was so young that she
needed her mother to co-sign the papers. It was the summer before she’d enter
Parsons to study fashion, and she had made a ready-to-wear collection aptly
titled “Genesis” — in reference to her religious background and her new life as
a designer. She attended everything from street vending events to designer
showcases to push her wares, but soon realized that not many in the industry
were willing to provide a platform for a 17-year-old.
“At that age,” she told Racked, “nobody wanted to let me in their runway
show. So my mom said, ‘Let’s do our own.’” Six years and a degree later, Jewnell
and her mother, Tandra Birkett, set up Harlem Fashion Week to offer a space for
exactly those designers who don’t have much chance of making it onto the
official New York Fashion Week schedule.

Here is another quirky, chic and weird AF trend pioneered by the Kardashians
that has become a huge trend now- The corset waist belt.
This '80s Madoa-style piece which no one wore and was more of a stage show
look has already been spotted on Kylie, Gigi, Kendall, and Kim in recent months.
It was only a matter of time before the trend caught on and was spotted on
fashionistas and fast-fashion stores started marketing their own variants.

This bride shouted her love from the mountaintops — quite literally — in her
homemade wedding gown.
Clara and Ryan Orland, of Columbia, South Carolina, hiked 3 miles in their
fancy attire to get married atop Looking Glass Rock in North Carolina.
The beautiful location in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains is special
to the couple, making the decision to tie the knot there an easy one.
“Ryan took me to Pisgah Forest a few weeks after we started dating,” Clara,
24, told ABC News. “He proposed at Moore Cove Trail as well. We make it a point
to go camping there every year.”
To make the unconventional ceremony even more magical, Clara crocheted her
own wedding celebrity
dresses, which took four months and less than $100 to complete.
“I started crocheting about five years ago and when I started looking for a
wedding dress I wasn't too happy with what I saw,” the bride explained. “I ended
up buying a dress and hating it. February of 2016 I got the idea to make it

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif was in the UAE last week to walk the runway
for Splash at Mall of the Emirates.
She was wearing a black jumpsuit with floral embroidery from the label when
we met to chat about fashion and her plans for 2017.
What does fashion mean to you?
aI think it should be accessible. It should be something that’s uniquely your
own. It should complement your mood and your personality. It should be easy.
Do you feel pressured dressing for the red carpet?
This whole trend of dressing up for the red carpet and big events is
something that happened in the past few years. Before, when I used to go to a
premiere of one of my films, I would just pick a celebrity inspired
dresses out of my closet.
I think it’s with the age of social media and the whole digital thing –
Instagram – everybody has started this trend of high-fashion dressing for
events.
Sometimes it’s fun – you get to play dress-up for a night – but the way it
was before, when we used to put on anything
